The garden surrounding the lodge is beautiful and the room was nice. The free breakfast and paid dinner were both delicious! It is very close to Akagera national park.

Lovely welcome and Patrick looked after us brilliantly. He prepared a meal that was the best we had in the 2 weeks we spent in Rwanda.

We spend 1 night at Akagera neighbours. We loved the warm welcome we received from Alexi and his colleagues! He really took the time to have a little chat, show us around and offer us some dinner with a speciality Rwandan beer. We felt like home instantly. He is a wonderful host! The room is simple but correct. We had hot water for the shower and nice breakfast: omelet with veggies. A nice change of only eggs. The court yard where you can eat was very cosy. recommended!

The park is lovely and has the perfect size for people spending 1 or 2 days there. It is not yet comparable to many other safari parks in Africa, so it is hard to spot animals like lion, leopard and rhino. Numbers of these animals are however increasing, so I would love to come back in 5 years or so.

The lodge was doubled booked so after 45min car drive on bad roads from Akagera we arrived with out this info, nobody told us. The owner was not willing to help us out and compensate for their mistake, instead he tried to put us in a TENT with out any facilities or safety. This management is a 100% joker and put us in big PROBLEMS that night with out any place to sleep... I do not recommend anybody to gamble with booking this lodges!

If one wants to see the big five then go to the northern areas of the park. The southern area is very bushy and difficult to spot them. There are not enough rest spots and from top to bottom of the park takes 6 hours. A few more resting spots would be appreciated. Also more drives along the banks of the lakes. The roads were pretty poor in places.
