The room was very comfortable. The cafe and restaurant were both great. I needed to exchange my meal and had great service from the restaurant and room service. The walking trail was beautiful for an evening stroll and the view was greating having lunch either indoors or out. Wish I had more time to try the yoga, wine tasting, and bikes!

First of all, the staff was very nice and apologized for the major renovations going on in the hotel. We arrived and there was lots of jack hammering going on, the lobby was all tarped off, so no pool, no food off of the menu was available at the rooftop lounge. The only food available was frozen pizza from the grocery store and frozen egg rolls. It would have been nice for booking .com to alert consumers that this hotel is under major renovations and no food service nor pool is available.

Husband and I stayed one night to catch a fishing charter scheduled for the following morning. The location was perfect... Walking distance to food, shopping, marina and beaches... Rooms were clean and the staff was polite and helpful... Other than the few issues listed below, we would definitely stay here again and recommend others give it a try...
* The location of our room on the second floor, left us with no privacy, Unless we kept the drapes drawn, hotel guests stepping off the elevator were able to see directly into our room...
*Room key issues- Need to update system. Locked out twice...
*Paying to park in hotel parking lot

Lovely place to stay for decent rates and nice staff and pool! Clean and quick to all sites from Newport to San Diego. Stayed 40 years ago and it's the same great place. Nice some things stay the same. Must eat at top of Dana Point at Restaurant overlooking the Bay. Forgot name but really great prices for food and the normal price of California.

Dana Point is such a beautiful gem! There are so many things to see and do. We had done our research and didn't check much off the list since we were so content with everything right there in the harbor. We loved Dana Point very much and will definitely be back to see more!

Loved everything, the staff were all excellent.
Loved everything, the staff were all excellent. Carmen, Dano, Erin, Tony manager, Brandi, all were friendly helpful and welcoming. The entire staff were all excellent, including the cooks, and housekeepers. We had a blast and had the time of our lives.

When I arrived at check in, I was greeted by Phil. He was so sweet and helpful. He also upgraded my room to a room with a balcony right in front facing the ocean! It was so amazing hearing the waves crashing while laying in a hotel room. The room was nicely decorated and in better shape then even the pictures online represented. Phil and the other staff were a wonderful and refreshing set of individuals.
For 37 years as a flight attendant I have stayed in A LOT of hotels in the U.S., and abroad. This is a very nice property. My biggest concern is cleanliness, and this property is IMMACULATE!
I would ask that Best Western acknowledge Amanda Savoy as a wonderful, pleasant, and accommodating staff member. She is truly an asset to the company.
Thank you.
The hotel is fine. Obviously a great location. The rooms, the facilities are just NOT a $600-$700/night worth of an experience. I travel the world ALL the time and I have stayed in far nicer places (with a much more expensive experience) for these prices. We had to be there for a wedding. Would not go back for those prices. Would for ~$300/night.
Stayed for a weekend visit. The hotel is older but very pleasant. It was a great weekend deal for us to stay there and the location is perfect for enjoying Dana Point. The staff were very friendly and helpful, everything was clean, and the breakfast was what we expected (good, and typical hotel fare). We'd stay here again.
Our third visit to this hotel on our travels around California from Scotland and we just love where it is situated with a fantastic view. The hotel itself is very comfortable and welcoming and rooms superb. Afternoon wine & snacks delightful and breakfast tasty. Free bike rental a bonus too.
Very nice hotel. Very clean and comfortable. We had a room with a kingsize bed which was also very comfortable and a jacuzzi in the bathroom. The breakfast was great, especially the pancake machine. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We would come back!
Location was exactly what we expected. Our pool view room was clean but a bit on the small side. Many kids in the pool and louder than I wanted. Breakfast was only bare bones basics but the staff throughout the hotel were kind, helpful and made us feel welcomed.
it was in a good location near the water and a short walk to the free trolley stop which took you around Dana Point, San Clemente
or into Laguna Beach. There were several restaurants, shops and cafes within short walking distance from the hotel
The room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the location and view of the ocean.
It was easy to access many fun activities from the hotel. Dana Harbor was close and it was easy to access the ocean over the walking bridge over the highway.
The size of the room was great, it was clean, parking is easily accessible and staff was very friendly. Really cool little hotel, close to the beach and relaxing atmosphere despite the road in front of it.
The staff was very friendly and courteous. The ladies who served breakfast were so sweet! The location of the hotel was good for where we needed to go and we liked the view from our room.
Staff were polite and hard working good position in dana point for access to beach town and freeways. Christine on reception was first class happy bubbly and extremely helpful
