Know the area from past visits to our storage unit and friends. Within hour of NYC and allowed us to escape the extreme heat and possible blackouts. Many restaurants and gas statio in the area . Located just at the start or end of the NYS Thruway.

Mahwah is a small quaint town but is bustling.
Mahwah is a small quaint town but is bustling. The people here are very courteous and friendly. The only negative is that there were no easily accessible shopping malls but there were a few stand alone department stores just no one stop shopping experiences. The pool is closed, restaurant too. The room is small and doesn't like a 350 sqft. Tv Chanel is just basic, and the TV is an old model, does not have Netflix software included. After 13 days' stay, we move to another hotel, Sonesta. It is cleaner. The room is bigger and the price is lower. The same location as doubletree, highly recommend.
