Across from the Visitor Center and nearby to many fast food restaurants and two grocery stores. Restaurant meal was good, nearby Japanese restaurant also good. Went to see Dismal Swamp, about a half hour. Worth the trip to me.

I loved the old down town buildings of Suffolk and the new shopping strip malls with everything one needs. I came to visit the Great Dismal Swamp which, as a birder, consider it world class. Suffolk could do more to capitalize on its history and excellent naturalists’ opportunities as well as hiking and biking fun. The park is spotless and has bathrooms. We ate in different restaurants, Japanese, Italian (wonderful), Starbucks and Panera all of which we loved.

needed to take a shower I got locked out of my room five and a half hours after I checked in and no one was at the front desk to help for at least 45 minutes this was during midnight and we had a wedding the next day but the front desk employee didn't think it was a big deal that it took him 45 minutes to get back to the front desk while we were locked out of our rooms I thought his customer service was very very poor that he had no concerns for the fact that we were paying to stay in this four and a half star rated hotel where there was no water pressure and the only thing they wanted to reimburse me with was having maintenance come to my room at 7:30 in the morning to fix my shower so I can take a shower and my sink with the water pressure where I couldn't brush my teeth but on a good note the next morning after I called to the front desk and complained the young lady who was working there at the front desk in the daytime she was much more pleasant and understanding and had a better understanding of how customer service works and she took my price down to make me satisfied to make me whole so I appreciate her very much but my stay there was not four and a half Stars it may have been just that three just because of Bella's bad things the first impression is a lasting impression beautiful hotel just get your employees all on the same page with customer service and make sure your facility works and everything on that works before taking people's money and then having to fix the problem after it happens

    Nice place to visit.

Nice place to visit. City is nice, rural parts are pretty and restful. Nice river, streams, bayside, fishing, boating. Nice ballparks, rugby. football, softball, baseball. Plenty of seafood, nice and casual dining. Plenty of weekend activities, so you can relax or get into various activities. Easy access to other local cities and places that can be fun.

It looked nice from the outside and the lobby, but the breakfast was not very good. The refrigerators in the rooms need to be updated and walls cleaned around the sinks. Room was clean, but the bathroom was small. Steps in the pool and hot tub need something. Slippery and very easy to fall.

I stayed here because we had a family reunion so most of the family stayed here. This hotel was selected by our reuniiI like the fact that I had a place to sleep, but after visiting, this hotel would not be a place that I would personally choose.. The bed was comfortable though. The accountant, Ms.⁰ Valerie( I think that was her name) was super helpful at check in. She assisted the receptionist with billing issues so that I wasn't charged again for a room that I had booked and paid for through Booking.com. She saved the day!

I didn’t like anything besides the location because the hotel was not clean I even had one of the housekeepers to clean up the bathroom because the toilet water had ran over onto the floor , and so she basically wiped it up because the bathroom still had smelled like toilet water. And I had even tipped her before she cleaned up the bathroom thinking that she would actually clean the bathroom but she didn’t.

The staff was superb: friendly, competent, and helpful. The hotel is moderately run down and needs a renovation. The cost per night for the run-down hotel, which serves breakfast with all disposable flatware, plates, cups, etc is unacceptable. Staying one night and having breakfast for $295 is unacceptable.

The location was great, just a few minutes from major highways. The hotel was clean and well-maintained. The room was quiet and spacious. The desk clerks were helpful and friendly, and the cleaning staff were friendly too. We had a good place to park the car, and luggage carts were available.
