It was conveniently located within walking distance to the Palace. There were two elevators and easy taxi access. Numerous restaurants were within walking distance. The room was spacious and well appointed. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. I travel frequently and
this hotel is the top of my list for places I would recommend to others.

The hotel is really close to the Versailles Palace and the train station, barely 8min walk. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is cheap and it's totally worth it because they offer a big variety of options to eat. The room is comfortable as well.

I am assuming that most people travelling to Versailles are going for the Palaces and gardens. The grandeur and scale of the palaces is immense, the sense of history, excess and wealth really hits you. Having said that, you will be doing a lot of queing and you will be shuffling from room to room with 1000's of other people poking their cameras and phones into your space.

We loved Versailles plenty of cafe's, bars and restaurants to chose from at
affordable prices, if you just fancy a light lunch wonderful deli offering
excellent selection. Small Carrefour and other grocery stores easily accessible. We found it very easy to get around Versailles we had a 2 day pass for the Chateau and gardens and it was amazing. After reading reviews before we planned our trip we pre - booked our tickets for the earliest time possible as it can get very busy, it worked just fine we visited on Wednesday and again on Thursday.

I have been twice before over the years, It's a very expensive suburb of Paris now and an interesting town which revolves around the Chateau. The Chateau is a place you must visit once in your life at least, and allow a full day or more as the grounds are huge. It's a commercial tourist trap, long queues and not enough people selling tickets though all staff are very friendly and helpful. I would have bought online but couldn't fathom the headset guide, you could add it then it disappeared at checkout. Turns out you can't and don't need to pre-order, they are available after ticket check at a desk in the entrance, no queue. You can buy tickets from Tourist Information (they have an allocation) to beat the queues. Don't take a very expensive tour, the audio gives the same information and there are plenty of signs to stop you getting lost. Fantastic place but more or less just a portrait gallery and heaven for lovers of architecture. Just stand there and wonder at the scale, opulence and grandeur of the place. Not much catering, just essentials but the catering staff will refill a water bottle for you free if you ask nicely (a bit of French is handy). Be prepared to get your elbows out as although access is limited there are a lot of people inside, be prepared to wait for pictures and be tolerant of the bored and ignorant being dragged around! Book one of the local hotels, we used the Ibis, a 5 minute walk and used a restaurant on Rue de Satory which has a good selection and just outside the gates.

Fantastic trip.
Fantastic trip. It had been on my bucket list for a long time and did not disappoint. Mercure hôtel exceptionally welcoming. Excellent breakfast.
Would definitely recommend.
The palace is of course the main reason to go to Versailles but I don’t advise visiting the inside on a Sunday. It was packed to the rafters and at time uncomfortably so.
But hey ho! I loved it all. Enjoy your trip…

Versailles is not a welcoming place for visitors.
Versailles is not a welcoming place for visitors. No taxi service, The train tour of the palace is a rip off. They make you stand in the hot sun while the entire crew of drivers take a long break for lunch. If you get off there is a long wait time before you can get a spot on another train. Large tour groups block passage to many exhibits. Signage throughout the gardens and some displays is very poor and non existent in many places. A real disappointment. The hotel staff and restaurants were all good and made our time spent with them very enjoyable.

Versailles is a quaint village with a lot of charm and character. There is a lot to see as far as history and is just beautiful! I felt very comfortable and safe. Versailles is easy to navigate and get around.
Location was perfect. Just round the corner were all the bars and restaurants on the square and the palace of Versailles is just 10 minute walk. The owner/ reception man was lovey. Polite and welcoming and he let us park our truck outside where he could keep an eye on it for us. The hotel is spotlessly clean and feels brand new. The bed was so comfy and we had a nice view from the big window. The bathroom was modern and 2 shower heads and spotless. Perfect hotel.
We had a standard room, which is very small. The bathroom is even smaller, but we had good water pressure. The bed was large and comfortable, and the airconditioning worked very well. The breakfast was good, and reasonably priced. We were within a short walk to the train station, and a short walk to Versailles palace, which made this hotel very convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we found the map they give out very helpful as well.
At the Royal Hotel Versailles you feel at home, I had a wonderful experience from the day I arrived until I left.
Ideal location for several visits to the Palace of Versailles and the surrounding area.
Extremely friendly staff, welcoming and always happy to help you thank you Madame Sylvie and Monsieur Philipe.
The rooms, very clean and perfect for a few days.
Generous breakfast.
Definitely recommend for all friends and family.
To do again.
The hotel location is just perfect. Two steps from the magnificent Chateau, on a calm narrow street.
On street parking is free of charge during nights. Also, big parking near the chateau is just 2 minutes away.
The room had a nice high ceiling, and its heating worked really well. The hotel interior is decorated with care.
The bathroom was very clean.
I especially liked the staff - they were helpful and cheerful.
We always stay here when we visit Versailles. I have probably stayed at least ten times over the years. The property has always been a favorite for several reasons: perfect location, you can walk everywhere; great parking; very friendly and helpful staff; great breakfast. this time, our luggage didn’t arrive in Paris with us. it was delivered the following day and the staff put it right away in our room.
A smart city hotel in the heart of Versailles. We chose it partly for its underground car park and proximity to the great Palace of Versailles (literally a few minutes walk). They upgraded our rooms unasked, which was nice and suggested a couple of local restaurants where we could have dinner. The rooms are comfortable, with huge double beds and practical white bathrooms.
Working for the US government I make it a point to stay at your facility in Versailles, despite having to travel quite a distance to get to our Headquarters/Office at Capital 8, 32 Rue de Monceau, 75008 Paris. This time I came with my family.
Enjoyed everything, room, comfy bed, b'fast as well as the bar and proximity to various Restaurants, stores etc.
Ideal location close to dozens of restaurants and Versailles palace. Charismatic boutique hotel. Small but comfy room. Small fan included for the heat. No AC but didn't get too hot. Our room faced the courtyard and was extremely quiet, even with the window open, even though the hotel was full.
The bedroom was big but it was confused in style, the bed comfortable, bathroom was a good size and all worked well. The hotel is the in the best position for visiting the Palace of Versailles which was the point of our journey. The staff were generally very friendly.
This is a beautiful hotel with a super friendly staff, particularly Arnaut. This gem is very close to the Versailles Palace. It is in keeping with the decor of the Palace. Comfortable beds and super clean. You can park under for 10euros a day. We loved our stay.
The location vis-a-vis the palace and gardens was amazing. The rooms cheaply decorated in style with Versailles which is kind of funny. The bed was really good (ultimately the most important part of a hotel) and the front desk staff really helpful and kind.
The advantage of the hotel’s location is that it is within easy walking distance of the Palace of Versailles (about 5 minutes). However, it was around 15 minutes to walk to the area around the market where all the restaurants could be found.
Location was excellent; five minute walk from the palace and Versailles Château Rive Gauche station for easy access to Paris. Despite this the hotel and road it is situated on are very quiet. Room was very comfortable and spacious.
This lovely hotel has a great location within walking distance of the Versailles palace. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. We were fortunate to be able to park our car on the street out front for the duration of our stay.
Entry level superior double bed off light well courtyard. Ease of access from train station and to Versailles palace as well as Notre Dame market district. Clever bathroom
Very well located hotel, so close to Versailles. Convenient parking underneath the hotel you can access from the elevator. Small room. Good rain shower. Decent sized TV.
Pleasant hotel, located within walkable distance from the Palace Versailles. Staff service was pleasant and they made efforts to accomodate our requests.
