The staff was really friendly and attentive, the location was very nice with restaurants, small shops etc., the room was clean and cleaned each day. We would prefer more comfortable matraces and pillows but it was okay. The breakfast was good, lots to choose from but same each day.
Guesthouse-TheView is a recently renovated guest house in Ribeira Brava where guests can make the most of its bar and shared lounge. With lake views, this accommodation features a balcony.

Sandra was really nice, she receive us in a very late hours for our late plane arrive. And I was very kind with us.

We used Ribeira Brava as a base for exploring walks in the west of Madeira using the local buses. It is a modern town in a narrow valley and lacks the charms of Funchal. However, it has a several eating places, shops and a small sheltered beach. It is a hub for a number of bus routes.

Public transport in Madeira is a pain, so if you don't drive, it's not easy to get here. Bus information are lacking or are not very clear. Ribeira Brava is a quiet, cozy place, where you can have good restaurants, supermarket and can start nice trips from here.

Although this is listed as Ribeira Brava it is actually in Ponta do Sol which is lovely. really pretty little town with a few good restuarants tucked away down a side street. Beach is fab as you can go snorkelling on one side wihch is calm then there is a rougher section of sea if you want to swim in the waves. Nice cafe on the beach and a great one overlooking the bay.

An authentic cozy house in a quiet place with banana plantation and a bench and table on a mount slope above the ocean. Good price, attentive and helpful hostess. In the middle room there is no window and though there is a ventilator in the bathroom, you'd better dry your wet clothes outside. One more cone is not great sound isolation of the room and if you are sensitive for noisy neighbors... mmm... God bless, we did not have ones!
All the facilities for comfortable life.

Delightful safe commercial working town.
Delightful safe commercial working town. In high season tour buses stop here for a while . In winter very few tourists around . The Church is simply beautiful . Residents mostly friendly and helpful. Spanish speakers will be grand here as so many people either lived in Venezuala or are from there.
The Valley is stunning . Reminds me of the lake district.
Local bus service will take you to many a levada or other small towns in district .
I think the Public Servants in this town should be commended for it's safety, cleanliness and tranquillity.
Filomena is an exceptionally kind, welcoming host, and we are fortunate that she enjoys sharing her historic family home with others. The view of Ribeira Brava and the ocean is spectacular. We enjoyed eating fresh fruits from the garden. The separate guest kitchen with adjoining wisteria-draped (ocean view) veranda was a lovely space to have a meal or just relax. We also liked the fact that there are only three guestrooms. We had a very comfortable stay here, and would definitely recommend it for couples.
The staff is great, pet friendly, accommodating, overall nice people. We had 3 hotels cancel on us, they were our life savers. If you have a pet, don't believe the pet friendly policies in other hotels, they're not true. They only apply to rat sized animals.
The beds were surprisingly extremely comfortable. For the price i expected a rock hard mattress but they put out the expense for quality mattresses. It's close to the comfort as my bed at home, maybe not as comfortable but my bed is $4000
Filomena does everything do make your stay as wonderful as possible.
We stayed for 1 week and we loved everything, the breakfast, her welcome ceremony with the Madeira wine and delicious cakes, the view, location (it is perfect when you want to drive to different places on the island), the house and the garden and it always seems to be sunny in Ribeira Brava :) Last but not least Filomenas wonderful generosity and hospitality - it makes you feel like you are at home.
The appartment offers everything you need for a great stay with two people. It is situated above Ribeira Brava with great views from the two sides terrace over the valley to the sea and into the mountains. Equipped with a small kitchen, a comfortable mid-size bed and a well-sized bathroom, it is also well-maintained and cleaned. Nothing to complain and if you need any assistance or advice Pedro is there and will help you out in his very friendly, open and caring way.
Perfect place to relax on the sunny southern coast of the island. The view is indeed amazing and simply sitting on the balcony enjoying it makes your stay an exceptional experience. More than that, house is new, clean and very well decorated. There is a pool with comfortable sunbeds. The hosts and entire staff are extremely polite and helpful. Very good breakfasts with local fruits. Next to the hotel there is a nice local bar with great drinks. Highly recommended! :)
Fantastic ambiance, wonderful staff, great accommodations. The villa was gorgeous, and the views were second-to-none (sunset is perfect). Breakfast was more than I'd expect at such an oasis! Multiple "pool" options, incredible gardens!!! You're essentially staying in a botanical garden - better than some "official" botanical gardens I have visited. Even had fresh flowers in the room when we arrived. Most five-star hotels don't even go that far. Bravo, Dazkarizeh73!
The villa was incredible, everything we needed for our stay. We were very active, hiking and exploring Madeira and Raquel was the perfect host and our Villa included everything we needed. Well equipped to make our own meals and enjoy them on the patio which had an incredible view!! We enjoyed staying in Ribeira Brava, it was quieter than Funchal and much more of a local vibe. We will miss Raquel’s warm hospitality and her very cute cats. We hope to come back!
The hotel offers a delicious breakfast, with a wide variety of food for everyone’s taste. Also there is a very handy “breakfast bag“ option in case you have to leave early in the morning. But the breakfast starts quite late – at 8:30. Also we enjoyed the stunning ocean view from the swimming pool and our room, it is a really great place to enjoy sunsets. The room was really spacious, with a large comfortable bed, a useful mini fridge, a bath in the terrace.
We liked the cozy, private home, it was clean and beautiful, fully equipped with all the things a person can need when it's travelling. They did a great job with the garden also, the only regret is that we didn't have enough time to fully enjoy it. We will definitely come back! If I could give a hundred stars, I would! The host is helpful, understanding and kind! Thank you for making our stay in Madeira better! 😌
Great small property with 2 bedrooms above an open plan living room - kitchenette.
Really clean and with all appliances / equipment you need including a washing machine.
Location next to the famous Taberna da Poncha but whilst it is always busy in the early evenings in particular the noise isn't excessive. Parking is over the road and road is fairly busy as the main North - South road through centre of Madeira.
Villa Cassolino may be the nicest vacation rental property at which my family and I have ever stayed: superb location on a hillside above Ribeira Brava with expansive ocean views, spotlessly clean, new, modern, bright, comfortable, quiet, easy gated off street parking, washer, fully equipped kitchen, easy check-in and prompt communication with an excellent host.
the location is exotic, immersed in nature. we did not use them but you could use dazkarizeh73’s infinity pool and jacuzzi (for the future I would book a room in dazkarizeh72). small boutique hotel with limited number of rooms. it has fridge, air conditioning, tv, wifi, hairdryer. clean toilet.
This was my second time staying at Hotel do Campo. Vera and her family are the nicest host you could possibly wish for, as well as the whole staff. I really recommend to everyone who is travelling to Madeira to stay at Hotel do Campo!
Beautiful location. Very friendly and attentive host. Views are wonderful and great spot to relax and restore. It was convenient to explore the Western and Northern parts of Madeira.
Location is wonderful, amazing views from uphill and sunsets. Pedro is very helpful and responsive. We would choose Vila Brava for our next trip to Madeira.
