We could store our bags without any cost in the locker room, so we could go early on check in day to leave our bags and explore the city. We came later that night at 21.00 and checked in to our room. There is a bus stop exactly in front of the main entrance door and the U8 stop on the other side of the road. The room has everything you'll need for a stay in Berlin.

the very modern, but stylish Potsdamer Platz built very close to the former wall
Seeing historic buildings like the Reichstag & Brandenburg gate are a must if you are interested in history. Also things like the Victory Column (Siegessaule), checkpoint Charlie & the sections of the Berlin wall are fascinating. Berlin is a city full of wonderful gothic buildings & I recommend a guided boat trip down the Spree to see some of them & give some ideas of what else to visit. There are some modern buildings worth seeing too like the iconic TV tower in old East Berlin & the very modern, but stylish Potsdamer Platz built very close to the former wall.
