Pikillaqta
A large Wari village, Pikillaqta was mysteriously abandoned in 1100 AD and soon after set ablaze. Despite ancient attempts at arson, the site is still wonderfully intact. You’ll wander the streets and plazas amongst temples, communal buildings, homes and storage structures – some of the buildings an impressive 4-storeys high!

Hire a guide or read up ahead of visiting.
Hire a guide or read up ahead of visiting. I thought it was just pretty weird architecture until the depth of devotion, engineering, and detail it represents was explained by my guide - who was passionate about it. Despite the BIG crowds, I ended up being moved by Gaudi's vision.

We were there March, 2024. If you visit only one site in Barcelona, this has to be it. Make sure you get your ticket ahead of time or you may find yourself waiting a long time in line. We recommend you get your tickets for the late afternoon when the sun rays are low and shine through the stained glass windows. Guaranteed--you will remember the sight for the rest of your life, just take time and soak it in. It gets crowded inside so take your time. Yes, go up one of the towers. And, go to the basement exhibit to get the story about the Sagrada's building(not complete). Also, go across the street to the parks on both sides to get full views of the breadth of the structure(each side different). A wonder.

One of the wonders of the world.
One of the wonders of the world. Get tickets and prepare for a long visit.
It is crowded, but well worth it. Assume you are surrounded by pickpockets. Wear a money belt and keep your hand on your phone.

Compared with the exquisite houses Gaudi created, I was not thrilled by this cathedral. The tour company kept us waiting and waiting as it changed the person to guide us. And he was not knowledgeable or informing.

Definitely, book a tour guide.
Definitely, book a tour guide. There is so much symbolism in the Sagrada that you may miss it if you go alone.
Church services on Sunday that anyone can attend without paying an entrance fee (obviously).

Make sure you make reservations in advance to see this incredible structure that is still under construction. It's a favorite of visitors and quite crowded at times. Gaudi was
a remarkable man. Be sure to visit the museum with a good video.

Independent apartment with kitchen, coffee machine, comfortable bed in a bedroom, nice big shower with hot water. Great, that we also had two pairs of key, what is not always the case. All in all it was a comfortable place close to Sagrada Familia.
Near metro, not in centre, but we like walking, so it was OK (Sagrada Familia 30 mins by foot). Not the best hotel, but for price and given the season, it was pretty good choice.
What an amazing hotel! We decided to upgrade to the executive room with terrace which had a view of La Sagrada Familia! Just wow! Breakfast was good and everything was walkable from the hotel. Our flight was cancelled so we ended up staying an extra night in a basic room (still lovely but upgrading is definitely worth it!). Very friendly staff too
The hotel is good situated, near to restaurants and to the sea. The staff is really friendly. It also has a gym and a pool. Also the view out of the balcony is nice.
Near to the hotel there are taxis. Also if you like to walk, you can walk in about 1h to the sagrada familia.
If I go back to Barcelona I would take this hotel again.
The location is really good, close to Sagrada Familia, in a peaceful neighborhood.
The apartment is big, clean and has two bathrooms.
If you spend most of the day visiting Barcelona, the apartment in quite good.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel's location is unbeatable—right next to the Sagrada Familia, with several subway stations nearby. It also has a rooftop with a clear view of the Sagrada Familia. Additionally, we learned that the hotel is run by a foundation, so the profits go toward helping people with cancer and other illnesses.
Very comfortable apartment, an old building in an attractive street near to small supermarkets. Walkable to the Old Town if you don't mind walking, but not far from the metro. Also near to La Sagrada Familia. Great to have a washing machine. Staff were friendly and looked after our luggage for a few hours on the last day after checkout. Overall a nice place to stay.
Amazing hostel. The free snacks at reception are a nice touch especially after a long journey. Good breakfast, very friendly staff, good location - 5 minute walk from Park Guell, 15 minute walk from Lesseps/Joanic metro stations, and 30 minute walk from Sagrada Familia.
The location is fabulous- walking distance to/from Sagrada Familia and metro station, shops and restaurant around, great conditions, high level of cleanness, comfortable beds , great size of the apartment, street view, all the essential things are on your reach (fridge, plates and utensils, toiletries etc).Extremely happy with Atica- if I will return to Barcelona, this apartment will be my choice again

If you visit Goudi's Battlo house do so after doing the Barcelona tourist bus trip (buy tickets from the underground Information office (good english plus you can get Sagrada familia tickets for a timed entrance thus avoiding the queues) in Pl Catalunya next to El Corte Ingles){ same ticket can be used on red, blue and green routes although green is all but worthless} and along with ticket/s you get a discount booklet incl 3 Euro off the price of Battlo (21euro entry) which you can then spend on the audio/visual tablet which shows you the furniture which was in each room, desks, tables/chairs and altar etc which greatly enhances the understanding of this dragon house

It also shows where Goudi developed some of the ideas used in the Sagrada Familia. The opportunity to have your photo taken (10 euro photo or 13 euro photo + digital download ) from the highest sharks mouth balcony should be taken as it will probably be one of the few which includes everyone rather than excludes the one holding the camera.
