Breakfeast quite complete and with plenty of local food. Gonten is a tiny and charming small town, nice landscapes around.

Well maintained and clean. We had the large upstairs family room to sleep four. Cold at night, with large comforters. Views of the town and Swiss countryside are amazing. Cows and Cow Bell sounds are everywhere. Food in restaurant was very good.

El Hotel Alpenblick está situado en la localidad de Schwende, en el cantón de Appenzell, y ofrece vistas panorámicas al macizo Alpstein. What a beautiful Hotel Alpenblick is. I'm not one to praise something that doesn't deserve it however this property is absolutely a 10 out of 10. The Hotel was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The property looks new as it is meticulously cared for and the room size was generous as was the bathroom. Out of all the Hotels we stayed in over 3 weeks, this was by far the best. It's not a typical Hotel, it has the beautiful Swiss feel of years gone by, a Gasthaus. The food in the restaurant was also 10 out of 10. The views of the countryside were absolutely stunning and just a minute of so up the road was the Ebenalp cable car up to Berggasthaus Aescher. The owners of the property were lovely, warm and friendly as too were the staff.

Clean and well equiped hotel in the center of the village. The staff was very nice, breakfast was delicious. Tourists who stay at least 3 nights are given a holiday card which provides free access to a lot of tourist attractions.
