Super friendly staff with a lot of passion. They made vegan breakfast for us (order in advance!) Cool rooftop terrace. We were on a cycling trip and could lock our bikes indoor. No problem.

Het hotel Berchtold met een eigen parkeergarage is zeer centraal gelegen in het winkelgebied, op slechts 1 minuut van het station. The only irksome thing was the Wifi. Most hotels just let you into their Wifi as a guest and the others just need a password. Having to sign into Swissscom and giving them all sorts of info was a little over the top for me.

Hotel Appenberg ligt op 2 km van het dorp Zäziwil in de Emmen-vallei en biedt rustiek ingerichte kamers in 12 historische gebouwen. De accommodatie heeft een eigen restaurant. The location was lovely and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast was outstanding with an amazing selection of local cheeses and meats. We had stunning view from our balcony. For staying in Switzerland, I thought the prices were right.

Boutique Hotel Moosegg ligt in de schilderachtige heuvels van het Emmental, op slechts 40 minuten rijden van Bern en Thun. Excellent staff location and food

Landgasthof Lueg ligt in Kaltacker, midden in de schilderachtige Emmen-vallei. Het biedt een restaurant, individueel ingerichte themakamers en gratis WiFi.De spa is toegankelijk tegen een toeslag. A wellness trip that should bring relaxation and a bit of activity was what I was looking for and it was exactly what was offered at the Lueg. The german couple that manage the hotel are were so nice in accomodating me. So many little things. For example they noticed that it was my birthday and lit a small candle on a small cake for me; so cute! Then they fired up the wellness area although I was the only one using it. But I was so greatful. It gave me exactly the relaxation I needed after a hike which was also aided by some recommendations by the host. Then the two dinners and the perfect service by the bavarian waiter on the first night. As there was a seminar going on at the hotel at the time, there was a small conflict in intressest in the smokers lounge. The waiter managed this situation like a boss. He quickly took the initative when he realized my wish to have a smoke after dinner and asked the people from the seminar what their plans were. Then he organized the two rooms for each of us and everybody was happy. That's what I call perfect service. This guy should get a raise :) The hotel is off the beaten track, but that's exactly what I was looking for. Still it is reachable by public transport directly from Burgdorf.
