Outstanding .. everything was super nice. Super COMFY bed, stunning view, super clean, delicious breakfast and helpful staff. I would like to thank Greta ,she is super nice, helpful and so kind. She was helping in every single detail. The breakfast in the morning was fresh and quality was excellent. The bread and croissant mmmmm everything exceeded my expectations.

Located on the island of Brissago on Lake Maggiore, and surrounded by a lush garden, Hotel Villa Emden is a historic villa featuring a restaurant and direct access to the beach. Photos and words cannot do this wonderful place justice. The location is simply breathtaking and once the last ferry leaves around 5:30pm you have the entire island to yourself with the other few hotel guests (10 rooms in total). There are picturesque viewpoints all around the island in the various areas of the botanical garden, where the vegetation is assembled by world region. The restaurant, while expensive, is worth every penny. Certainly one of the best dining experiences we have ever had - an intimate, quiet, superbly delicious meal looking out over the lake to the lovely town of Ascona under the kind and watchful eye of the restaurant manager who handles all table duties alone.
