We were most interested in finding a spot close to the beach, away from crowds, close to reef for snorkeling and nature preserve for walking. Casas Del Mar checked all of those boxes. We were able to visit the livelier communities such as Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, and Punta Uva, but then retreat to Manzanilla and the quiet (waves, birds, and monkeys) that we had hoped for… We were there for a weekend and a holiday during our one week stay, and the beach and community was a destination for locals during those days, but even then pretty quiet after dark and in the mornings.

If you're looking for ideal hosts- Andrea and James - would fulfill your expectations. They are wonderful people with lots of good energy, which share among the others. If you're looking for a place in the jungle, away from people (also away from the sea - about 30 min. driving) oasis of peace, you have just found it. There you can feel totally free and discreet. I fully recommend this place!

The location is amazing, just a couple of blocks from the park and the beach. The house is fully equipped, clean and comfortable. The forest that surrounds the house is full of wildlife and it makes you truly feel in paradise. We saw monkeys, tucanos, eagles, hawks, raccoons, sloths and all kind of birds. We had an amazing time.

Absolutely stunning cabin in the middle of a jungle. Privacy, pure nature, howler monkeys waking you up each morning, which actually is beautiful! I have never been in a more unique location. The hosts are super friendly. The cabin is very clean and has all you need: hot water, a mosquito net, a fridge and freezer and all kitchen utensils. There even was a blender and a hair dryer!

We saw hummingbirds, macaws, agouti, butterflies, monkeys and so much more from the porch. The cabin is clean and very comfortable. Frauke and Achim are very friendly hosts and made us feel welcome. We booked some extra days and would have stayed longer if we could. Definitely recommend this place!
