A good talk with lots of good tips for the travelling along the island. Chico, the cat, basically owns the place but Tiki… the dog, got my heart. You have to be there to understand this feeling, while surrounded by the mountains and the ocean.

Despite being just 5-10 minute walk from the city beach and restaurants, and just 15-20 minutes drive to the stunning beaches of Sotavento and Cofete, it is located a quiet street. The host, Lupe, is warm, kind, caring and full of stories about the island. In the middle, my partner had a bad back ache and she made sure we were comfortable and provided us with the extra blankets and medicines that we needed. The hotel itself feels more like home than a commercial property. Despite being cosy, there is no lack of facilities and we were very surprised at how the experience was exactly the same as staying in a much bigger hotel or brand.
