It’s a magical place. Everything was perfect. We had a wonderful dinner made by the chef, the room was very nice, the view from the chateau was stunning

Hôtel Restaurant Le Lachens is located in La Bastide in the Var department, 1.9 mi from La Roque-Escaplon and 5 mi from Bargème. It offers free Wi-Fi access, a large garden and a terrace. Le Lachens indeed turned out to be a real gem in the middle of almost nowhere:) An extremely friendly, cosy and welcoming family-run hotel with clean and comfy rooms, big ensuit bathrooms, good buffet breakfast with a very decent selection. A surprise dinner is worth a separate mentioning! We ordered 7 dishes to share between 2, not knowing what it would be before it was served (however, we could warn beforehand about the food we don't eat) - a complete choice of the chef. All our doubts disappeared once we were served absolutely lovely and delicious sets of entrees, main dish, cheese plate and desert - apparently all the cheeses were produced by the local farmers. We never regretted ordering this surprise dinner, and guessing the ingredients of the dishes was an additional fun! Highly recommended!
