At a similar price point to an Ibis Budget, this ACE hotel was of a much higher quality. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. Le Boeuf Couronné features an on-site restaurant and terrace with views of Chartres Cathedral, 500 metres away. The guest rooms have a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi access. Very friendly staff. Excellent buffet breakfast (breads, pastries, cold meats/cheese, eggs, fruit, yoghurt and delicious coffee!) I booked a room overlooking the Cathedral and it was stunning! Also the hotel is just a 3 minute walk from both the train station and the Cathedral so was very convenient.

Hotel Mercure Chartres Cathedrale is located at the heart of Chartres, overlooking the cathedral and market. It has air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV and free WiFi access. Rooms were fine, large enough, comfortable. The location is great, an easy walk to the cathedral and old town. Value is spot on. If you drive, there is a convenient space in front of the hotel where you can unload your vehicle and check in. After you check in, best to park in the Coeur de Ville parking lot nearest the hotel, better still to reserve your spot online.

Hotellerie Saint Yves is located in Chartres, 50 metres from the famous cathedral. The 17th-century building was a former monastery. It offers en suite accommodation with free Wi-Fi access. Check-in was smooth. Staff were hospitable and welcoming. Facilities were clean, simple, and comfortable. There was a very slight issue with the bathroom, which was resolved quickly. The location was excellent, so close to the heart of Chartres - the Cathedral, the shops, the restaurants.
