Formerly called The Castle Arms, The newly refurbished Mey Hotel is a 19th-century coaching inn and Visit Scotland award winning hotel just 8 miles from John O'Groats, in the village of Mey. We stayed for one night during our highland adventure, The hosts were fantastic, very welcoming, we had a very nice evening meal and breakfast was perfect. We would certainly recommend to anyone driving the north coast. And the local beers were very nice indeed

This small, family-run hotel has free Wi-Fi and free parking. It is in the centre of Castletown, close to Thurso and Wick and only minutes from the Castle of Mey. Loved everything about the Castletown Hotel. Fantastic staff, comfortable rooms, excellent food and service.

That was our view. Magical. The accommodation was large and beds had the best linens and were super comfortable. We walked the property all the way down to the ocean and it was the best hike. We went along the river and through fields with sheep and it was amazing. The dinner and breakfast was delicious and the lunch they packed for us last minute for the train was made with love and delicious. Wonderful stay.

The Portland Hotel is located in Lybster. Boasting a spacious guest lounge, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. Guests can have a cocktail at the bar. The staff was exceptional!!! Food was fantastic!!! I highly recommend this place! Amy fixed our breakfast for our early morning trip to Orkney islands.

Wonderful staff, great location and warm lovely rooms with perfect touches. I was so impressed with attention to detail, comfort, value and a very comfortable bed. Would definitely stay again. I can also recommend the fabulous breakfast options and the bistro at No. 1. Faultless dinner with beautiful ingredients and high on taste.
