Set in Troon and with South Beach reachable within 1.2 km, The Salt Lodge offers a bar, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a private beach area. Very friendly and welcoming place from time I arrived and throughout the stay. We had a ground floor room with marina views and a nice little private sitting area. The room looked great and was very comfortable. This is a pet friendly location that had a bag of dog biscuits in the room. We are not travelling with pets and other than the dog biscuits in the room you couldn't tell there was ever any animals in the room. We ate at dinner at their restaurant Scott's, had an actually fantastic meal there. The included breakfast was also very good too. If I was staying in the area, Scott's is definitely a place I would go to eat.

The Waterside Hotel is a four-star property along the water’s edge in West Kilbride, with panoramic views to the Isle of Arran. The property features free car parking on-site. The location right on the coast was amazing. We had a sea view room and the view was fantastic. The food was also a highlight as well. We had the fish chowder and a glass of wine. A great way to unwind after a day of heavy travel .
