This is a very old hotel adjacent to a golf course founded in 1532!! The hotel has been "modernized" within the past few years. But things like detached (but private) bathrooms still exist. The antique furnishings in the lobby and common areas are exceptional.

El Park Hotel goza de una ubicación tranquila en el centro de esta ciudad costera histórica, a 800 metros de la estación de tren y del campo de golf de Montrose. The outside of the Hotel was a bit deceiving it looked just like any other 3 star hotel BUT when you walk inside it is very very welcoming, cosy, clean, comfortable, spaceous, and beautifully decorated in traditional Scottish style. Our beds were very comfortable we all slept very well, no noise no disturbance very friendly housekeepers but what we loved the most was the breakfast and the friendly helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was more than I expected and you were full up by the time you finished, very clean very good quality food, any amount of options. The staff there could not do enough for us they worked so hard (we were at a wedding) and they still were kind and helpful right into the night having served us food early that same day I just cannot fault the staff and want to thank them for their hospitality. We loved Montrose too and we would love to come back, it's a perfect venue for a wedding, the wedding venue looked so cute and had doors that lead put onto a beautifully kept garden (Well done gardeners), the receptionist were super helpful always friendly, I highly recommend this hotel I would go as far to say it was the best hotel experience we as a family have ever had and I think it's because it's very down to earth, family orientated and non pretentious, love it.

Good location, Gary was very friendly and welcoming. Room was extremely clean, nice and warm, great shower and toilet facilities. Everything you could want for a very good price. I would not hesitate to go back.

The breakfast room is large, spacious and homely, with a wood burning stove, beautiful views and the walls adorned with interesting artwork. An old piano has been artfully converted into a bookshelf. The breakfast was delicious and well-presented. Kescoweth is situated on acres of stunning countryside with uninterrupted views all around. There is a small playground and friendly, tame goats for petting, as well as horses in the nearby fields. I would have loved to extend my stay, this place is so special and relaxing. The bedroom was very comfortable, spacious, with good furniture and very interesting framed pictures and memorabilia. It is obvious the owners are dog lovers as they have a wonderful collection of original paintings and drawings of dogs on the walls of the hallway and stairs. I left with a big smile on my face and a determination to return soon.
