Old Bled House

Completely renovated in 2016 and set 984 feet from Bled Lake, Old Bled House provides accommodations in Bled consists of family and double rooms. Free WiFi is provided in all areas. The receiptionist/front desk girls were very hepluful, both named Ana, I think. They were able to give me a lot of info on where to go and what too see. The location is execllent, you need to look for their sign. They are located 50 yards off the main road up a dirt road on top of a small hill. Their dinner was excellent. I had the best rib eye steak I'v ever eaten. I'm not the kind of guy who goes out and order steaks, ever! Their Slovenian is even better!!! You should make a reservation. The locals packed this place the night we were there, we almost did not get a table. They made room for us. Our room had an awesome view and patio.

All the staff are so helpful and nice. The view from our balcony was fantastic and the room very spacious and clean with a nice bathroom. The breakfast is excellent with a variety of delicious items and a choice of how to have the eggs cooked. Vegan and gluten free items are clearly marked. They even have books in English which you can borrow. I just can't praise this hotel enough!

Lake Bled is very beautiful and has a pedestrian friendly walking path around the whole lake. It is a great way to soak in all the beautiful scenery. In addition, Bled is one of the gateways to visit the Julian Alps.

Bohinj is a spectacularly beautiful lake surrounded by the Julian Alps. It was quiet, with very few tourists. We went on a lovely hike around the lake and to the waterfall.

Bled is a beautiful lake and town, popular with tourists. We hiked up the hill at the end of the lake on the steep side. It was a bit tough, but the views were awesome. There is a gentler way up as well, which is more popular. The lake takes about 90 mins to hike around and has a beautiful colour. You can row out to the island, but we declined. Make sure you stop and order one of the famous Bled cream cakes - yum! We crossed the Julian Alps to get here which were unforgettable! We also visited Vintgar Gorge nearby which was really amazing, but crowded with tourists. Hint: don't bring your damn dog on these narrow walkways and don't wander along waving a selfy stick!

If you go over the Julian Alps from Ljubljana, it takes a LONG time to drive here; allow plenty of time if you want to get out of the car and walk in the countryside. Don't try to do it in one day.

Went there for the Cows Ball.
Went there for the Cows Ball. What a bust! They canceled the event but never posted on the web site. Good travelers are flexible and we did have a wonderful visit. Prefer this area to the comercialized Lake Bled. Make sure you drive the 50 switchback road either coming or going. The view from the Julian Alps are breathtaking!..even in inclimate weather.

Wonderful area - beautiful lake and castle. Lots of outdoor activities. We rented a boat and rowed ourselves out to the island. Don't miss the castle. Strongly recommend a short trip to nearby Lake Bohinj. Take the gondola up to the Vogel ski area (obviously skiing in the winter) for great hiking opportunities in the summer. Stunning views of the Julian Alps and well marked hiking/biking trails everywhere. Pack a lunch (or eat at the restaurant at the top of the lift) and spend the day.

Bled is a great place to base your stay in Slovenia.. bled is beautiful with friendly people. And daytrips to the surrounding areas are awesome.. the Julian alps are magnificent and the capital of Ljubljana is a must see.. next time I come to Slovenia I will spend much more time here !!

Old world elegance combines with a fairy tale like setting in this jaw droppingly beautiful lakeside town. Definitely spend more than a day and make sure you head out to the easy to get to Julian Alps. Their diminutive relative to Stareside mountain ranges like the Rocky's or Sierra's but are sculpted to perfection.

From $104 per nightOur room 203 included a small balcony with a table and two chairs. It had a beautiful view of Bled Castle and sunsets over the Julian Alps. Bedding and linens were high quality, the bathroom was spacious, and there was plenty of storage. The complimentary breakfast was exceptional, with extensive home-made offerings (including cooked-to-order eggs). The hotel also provides a number of mountain bikes that are free to use on a first-come basis. Parking was free. Gardens were beautiful and staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

Is such a quiet area. From the balcony we enjoyed the mountain view and in the night you can see the stars, that's cause the place is a little secluded from the city lights. We went to Mojstrana for a winter ascent on Triglav peak. We totally enjoyed our stay at the rozle apartment and we'll come back there every time we will visit the Julian Alps!

She is very nice and gives great tips for places to visit.
