The Onuma quasi national park was amazing itself, lots of birds and the path along the lake is awesome. The hotel was an experience. The interior design with beautiful wood crafted statues made the stay exceptional. I am a smoker and even if in the hotel is not alowed to smoke, the smoking room was comfortable and easy to reach. The rooms are big, extremely clean and there is all you need in them. The view on the lake from our room was great. We had the breakfast which was varied and of high quality. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs, and for my wife, which is vegan, they arranged a great breakfast too. Finally consideration the staff. They all speak English, they are extremely polite and will to help you in order to make your stay pleasant. I absolutely recommend a stay in this hotel to enjoy the wonder of this naturalistic area!

A 5-minute drive from JR Hakodate Station, Villa Concordia Resort offers spacious rooms with a balcony, a kitchenette and free wired internet. What I loved about Villa Concordia was their ambiance. It was relaxing and close to many attractions around Hakodate. If you’re an early riser, waking up to run along the pier is very beautiful. Or if you like to run hills, the trek up to Mount Hakodate isn’t far either. I loved the attention to detail the workers there have. Before the stay, I’ve had a quick chat with them and the man welcoming us into the hotel had it printed and reviewed the chat with us. There was even a welcome drink and a welcome dessert. Aside from that, all the staff was warm and welcoming. Their hospitality is something that I’ll remember for a long time. I hope I’ll be welcomed to stay the next time we are able to visit Hokkaido!

The staff were very accomodating - after I messed up booking dates they were able to get me the room I needed on the right day at the front desk - going really above and beyond to sort it out. The bath on the top floor was amazing - especially the outdoor section looking onto the mountain at night - amazing even during below freezing temperatures. Views from the room over the rest of the city were great too.
