Surrounded by picturesque mountain views, Birds Paradise Hotel provides charming accommodation in Kalawana. Authentic Sri Lankan-style meals can be enjoyed at the on-site restaurant. The wonderful place to stay, friendly owner (Nimal), the best rice and curry we've ever tried in Sri Lanka! The room has all basic things you need: comfortable bed and pillows, hot shower with good water pressure, AC. The hotel surrounded by forest, just 2 mins to Sinharaja NP office, but many endemic animals can be seen right from your balcony! I've photographed a couple of grey hornbills (male and female), blue magpie and even purple-faced langurs (thanks to Nimal again!). We've spent just one night there, but it's definitely worth a longer stay if you have enough time to relax in peaceful jungle area. P.S. Inside Sinharaja forest we were guided by Nadika (ask her at the national park office). She's a good guide and even found a pair of Sri Lanka frogmouths for us [you're hardly find these birds yourself ;)]

Sarath - the owner of this lovely place, its an amazing man, an excellent jungle guide, professional, generous, and very friendly. It was really nice days that we experienced and we felt right welcome. Finally, there were great tips for our further trip. When we missed the bus just a little, he even drove it miles behind him, so we still get him.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Sagara as our guide in the rainforest. He was very passionate and enthusiastic. He showed us various endemic species of birds, insects, plants and reptiles. We saw monkeys and beautiful waterfalls. Afterwards we enjoyed tea at his beautiful accommodation. Offering a barbecue and views of the mountain, Rainforest Mount Lodge is situated in Deniyaya. Rain Forest Mount lodge is located opposite the main Pitadeniya entrance to the Sinharaja Rain Forest. The Location was great and so close to the entrance of Sinharaja rain forest 🌳 The room were clean and had a nice view to the mountains and paddy fields . Specially the food was amazing 🤩 and the mother of the owner was so kind and good person she made me feel like That I stayed in my home with my mother ❤️🙏🏻 as well as she cooks yummy Sri Lankan food that you can try in this place ! I’m definitely gonna stay here again 💯 highly recommend this place
