I was travelling alone and spent 5 nights in the Master Crusoe Suite which was gorgeous. The cabins are clean, eco friendly and very comfortable. The sound of the ocean putting you to sleep every night was incredible! The food is definitely some of the best on the island, I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here most days. The seafood quesadilla and the fish were my favourite :) The staff truly go above and beyond to make your stay perfect, even down to sorting a private panga for me to return to big corn upon leaving. This was a real highlight for my trip staying at LCIBB, highly recommend and would 1000% return!

All in all, we loved our stay there! 100% would recommend!

Has a rustic villa style feel and the rooms were kept cool with the coral walls and ocean breeze. We had dinner in the restaurant which we had to make reservations earlier in the day to be sure they could prepare the dish of our choice. The freshly made Italian fettuccini pasta was a exquisite treat! The fish and chicken made with unique sauces ingredients. Gourmet, like anything I’ve ever tried. My husbands lobster was huge and he ate it all up quickly. The place felt like home we will book here again when we return to Big Corn.

Ideally situated about 15 minutes walk from the pangas and most shops and eateries. Due to its location on the side of a beautifully verdant hill you have a nice breeze both day and evening. Bungalows are comfortable including the beds. The owners and volunteers are exceptional and did a nice job of making suggestions and creating a welcoming environment. Many thanks to Stephanie for cooking the delicious meals offered at the on-site restaurant and bar. As most large hotels and corporate chains have scaled back room upkeep and housekeeping while a guest, it was a an unexpected and thoughtful touch to come back each day to see that someone refreshed the room.

If you are looking for peace, relaxation, space, freedom and honest contact with people, Derek's Place is the place for you. The airy cabañas are furnished with great attention to detail. You live in the middle of nature, between the forest and the sea, in community with different people and animals. Yes, sometimes the electricity goes out. Yes, sometimes there isn't water for a moment, but that's how the Robinson Crusoe experience is authentic. There is so much to discover on the large grounds and on the paths through the forest or along the beach. Anna, Derek and family are very warm people with whom we quickly felt comfortable and at home. The breakfast is great and dinner with everyone who wants to join is a nice and culinary way to get together. The on-site dive center is also great with breathtaking dive spots right outside the door, experienced guides and good equipment. We are happy to have experienced such a relaxed stay on the island through Derek's Place. That's why we stayed twice as long as originally planned.
