Blackfern Lodge in Waimiha has 4-star accommodations with a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. The hotel features a hot tub and a shared kitchen. If you ever get a chance to stay at Rachael’s and Mark‘s place, do it. I came a second time from Germany and will return for a third one. For the private waterfall, the quirky and heartwarming handmade details all around the grounds, the nightsky, feeding trouts, hearing blue ducks, or the room with costumes, but most importantly for feeling this unique spot between nature and garden. It is so peaceful and quiet it is absolutely mind-boggling.

Located in the heart of Tongariro National Park, Skotel Alpine Resort offers a restaurant, a hot tub and a terrace bar with a fireplace. Most accommodations boast stunning mountain or region views. The location is stunning. You can get on the trail straight out of the parking lot. We booked a room with a queen bed and a shared bathroom. The room was tiny, just a few square feet larger than the bed but it was very cozy and the shared lounge was spacious. The shared bathroom was spotless. The shared kitchen was well equipped and I enjoyed the social aspect of being around other travelers. We visited during a spring shoulder but I worry that during peak ski season both the kitchen and bathrooms would be overwhelmed.

Suncourt Hotel & Conference Center offers spectacular views of Lake Taupo and the volcanoes of Tongariro National Park. The room was neat and clean. The bathroom was spacious. Very close to the lake and walkway. Also close to eating places. Breakfast was also very good!

Hilton Lake Taupo includes free pool and gym access and features views over Lake Taupo and is just minutes away from the town center. It is a 15-minute drive from Taupo Airport. Excellent Hilton, lovely large room with lake view, great modern outdoor pool and excellent choice and quality of food in hotel restaurant. Staff were always very very courteous.

This Millennium Hotel and Resort is located right on the edge of Lake Taupo. It offers luxury accommodations and facilities that include a heated pool, sauna, gym and tennis court. Everything was so clean, the staff was amazing and the food was delicious.

Located in Ohakune, 12 miles from Turoa, Snowman Cabins provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. clean and tidy, very good location

The Powderhorn Chateau is located in Ohakune, at the entrance to Tongariro National Park. What a lovely chalet! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice restaurant/bar and hot pool. They also have an ev charger available. We definitely recommend!

Lakeland Resort is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Taupo. Set on 2.8 acres of landscaped grounds, this resort features a tennis court, an on-site restaurant and a seasonal outdoor swimming... Friendly, helpful staff. Really good breakfast. Close to the lakeside path. Good lighting in the room.

Located in the Tongariro National Park, The Park Hotel Ruapehu offers affordable accommodations in a stunning alpine setting. Guests are provided with free parking and 500MB of free WiFi. Excellent all round accommodation restaurant location

Located on the shore, the Lakefront Lodge Taupo offers spectacular lake views and free WiFi access. It has an outdoor swimming pool. Great location across from the lake. The safari theme was cool especially the blanket on the bed.
